We chose a sketchy style for the schematic design phase to create a fluid, organic look that adds energy. This style effectively shows rough ideas and explores design options. In 2023-24, our team collaborated with North America to develop quick renders, leading to new opportunities for creativity in our work.
D. E. Shaw & Co. is a multinational investment management firm founded in 1988 by David E. Shaw and based in New York City. The company is known for developing complicated mathematical models and computer programs to exploit anomalies in financial markets.

DESCO appointed MMoser after an extensive review of NYC design firms including their incumbent architects. DEShaw implemented innovative working strategies, develop customized workplace solution per business unit/departments and apply a speedy iterative design process.
The project included a robust amenities program – including full café/kitchen, a gym, music room, table tennis room, Harvard Club concept lounge and a 9 story feature stair.
In order to model and iterate in 3D, the New York team was supported by the VR-BIM team led by Eva Leung to develop and design in Sketchup while simultaneously planning and modeling in Revit led by Ruchira Srivastava.
